Education Edition Freezing Up - Critical Flaw
Hey Community and Microsoft Team. Our organization has been encountering a problem in the latest version of MCEE(v1.14.31). The issue is Minecraft periodically (and fatally) freezing on the device that is hosting a server. We did not have the issue before the latest update. It requires force-quitting and relaunching the application to "fix" the freeze. But it usually occurs again fairly soon after. Yesterday, I had 3 freezes during the course of a 1hr class. As you can imagine it's fairly disruptive from an educational perspective to have to disconnect your students and reconnect them several times during the course of a class.
I am hosting on a Mid-2015 Macbook Pro with 16 GB of Ram running MacOS Catalina Version 10.15.6
We have also had the issue on several other Apple Computers, I can get you specs on those if you'd like.
I would really appreciate any help with this issue. Apologies if someone else has posted about it, I searched before posting and did not see it.
Please let me know if you need more information.
Thank you!

Thanks for reaching out to us and I am sorry you are having problems. Minecraft: Education Edition is optimized to be used in a classroom on the same network. While multiplayer is possible the game is not designed for connecting from home so there may be issues. The game does not support a server scenario and that may have something to do with it. There are also issues with making sure the router settings are set up a certain way (if you are at home). We have not heard of this type of issue happening to others on a consistent basis but I will pass it along to the development team! Thank you for letting us know about this!
