Minecraft Education Edition for 3rd party volunteer organization?

Hello,

I am an officer for an organization that volunteers with ~15 elementary schools each semester and with the transition of a completely virtual class, we were interested in purchasing the Minecraft EE for projects and learning lessons. However, we are a student led organization and the schools we work with are from multiple districts. 

Would acquiring the MEE be possible for our org? Or would we have to go through each school and have an administrator acquire an account or possibly each district?

Our kids and volunteer mentors are excited for this opportunity to have fun while learning through a virtual experience, and hope there is some way we can figure this out.

  Thanks for reaching out! These are really great questions that I am sure others have as well. Every user who logs into Minecraft: Education Edition needs to have a valid Office 365 Education account set up. Typically these Office tenets are purchased by the school district before the year starts and set up by the IT administrators or either the district or individual schools. There are different versions of Office 365 Education that may or may not have Minecraft: Education Edition bundled in them, and some that allow purchasing licenses for the game separately.

  It is possible for students to play with other schools in the district but everyone would have to be on the same Office 365 Education tenet, this is to make sure the students do not have remote access to users outside of their school district. 

  We here at Minecraft: Education Edition do not have insight into the eligibility process that each school or district has to go through to qualify for Office 365 Education. You will want to get with the IT admins of the district to discuss options with them and to see if the district already has an Office tenet purchased.
