    Hi everyone. The common cause for the "Cannot connect to service" error is a result of having multiple versions of Minecraft: Education Edition installed. I've provided a guide that can help you remove one of those versions below:

    I'm sorry you are having trouble signing in. I have a couple of questions for you: what type of device are you using? Also do you only have one setup file for Minecraft: Education Edition downloaded (we have seen if you have more than one downloaded onto the device it can cause login errors)?

    Hi, Adam:

    How are you?

    I am using my laptop log in to MEE but shows "we can't connect to the service you need right now. Please check your internet connection and try again". Internet connection is no problem otherwise I won't be able to ask you a question. Last time we long in was on Monday this week. 

    Grateful if you could help.

    Hey Tony, 

    Thanks for reaching out. If you are using a Windows 10 device, make sure there is only one version of the game downloaded on to the computer (ie: Windows Store App, and Desktop verison). When the game sees two versions of the game on the device it will give that type of error message. Let me know if that works.

    What do you mean when you say two versions of the game because the same thing happens to me and there is nothing I can do. I have turned my Wi-Fi on and off but it's no use. I have even deleted and installed Minecraft education more than once but it's no use so I find this and say finally the answer but I don't know what you mean when you say more than one version cause I'm not exactly a computer whizz. So I just need for you to explain to me what more than one version means and thank you.

    Don't listen to anything I just put there because I deleted EVERY SINGLE VERSION of Minecraft education I have and I haven't even been close to getting to the game and for some reason the same message pops up every single time, "We can't connect to the service you need right now. Please check your internet connection and try again". Yet again for some reason the demo lesson works so I give up FOR NOW getting the game to work.

    This has happened to me, i would login and it would say We cannot connect to the service you need right now and i have also tried deleting some and it still didn't work. So Can you please try to fix this problem.
    Because i have worked hard on my worlds in Minecraft Education Edition, so i do not want to delete it because i will loose all my hard work.

    Hello Adam,

    I had the same issue as the people above me and it turned out i did have multiple versions of the game installed. I have since deleted them, however, the error message still persists. Is there anything else that can cause this? Thank you.

    Hello! Adam I am also experiencing the same problem about the signing in as the others, when i try to sign in it doesn't let me, it tells me " Unable to connect you to service. Check your internet connection" and my connection is all good but as much as i try to sign in it doesn't let me. Can yall please fix this problem, Thank You!

    Hello Adam....

    My Minecraft is also having issues i know you are probably very busy with everyone spamming you but my Minecraft says when i try and sign in that Sorry cant connect right now try checking your internet connection and i have tried restarting my computer and shutting it down and uninstalling Minecraft then reinstalling it and it still says it. CAN YOU PLS HELP ME.... i REALLY REALLY REALLY want to play Minecraft with friends. OH and im only a kid so can you make everything sound easy

    I'm sorry to say this but Minecraft is having a huge glitch. Use a different device or get it fixed. I am sorry. I know it can be hard. Also how are you Abigale? :) Lets play on minecraft education on Satuday at 3:00 sharp. I'll give you the code at 2:55. It is on the Education edition. I am a coder and have tried to stop spamming, Adam. Try refreshing or asking a grown up.

    Us too. :(  I am a teacher at La Contenta Middle School in Yucca Valley. I have an after school Minecraft club that is pretty active.

    Yesterday a student could not join our multiplayer world after her computer auto updated Minecraft: EE to 1.14.50

     

    We all decided to close the world and have everyone get the update.

     

    After I updated that original updater was able to join my world, but 3 of our members, those on school laptops who are using the Microsoft Education Store version of EE, haven't been able to log into Minecraft at all since then. They have all tried uninstalling the Microsoft store version and re-installing it. 

     

    Now, they can't even play single player. They get the error. "Something went wrong. Try checking your internet connection." I read that this version tries to access a new URL and I am wondering if my school has blocked that URL or something.

    Mine has been going for almost 2 months and i was just wondering why? The internet connection is okay but for some reason it just won't connect and let me log in :(

    The new update for minecraft education has updated the new sign in URL link to a different one.
    if your school block this URL you cannot sign in.

    There is 2 solution
    1: you may try signing in at home or a wifi that does not have any restriction
    2: contact your school IT to allow the new URL

    Note: I don't have the url so please do not ask me for it.
