Something went wrong. Check your internet connection
This is super frustrating. After signing in I get the message "something went wrong. please check your internet connection" and it asks me to sign in again.
There is nothing wrong with my internet - it only happens on my mac laptop, it works fine on the ipad and on windows 10.
The thing is my worlds are saved on my mac and I ned them for a school assignment.
I have reinstalled, rebooted, tried multiple times. Can anyone help?

Sometimes that error can happen if you have two or more copies of the game downloaded onto your computer. Double check that only one copy exists on your device.
Another cause could be the firewall settings on your computer. With the recent update there are some sites that you have to allow through computer security settings for the game to be able to connect. Your firewall/anti-virus software must be set to allow this site https://meeservices.azurewebsites.net/
You can find out how to do this for macOS here: https://jackboxgames.happyfox.com/kb/article/28-how-to-whitelist-and-resolve-issues-in-antivirus-software-and-firewalls/

I am having the same exact problem, when I click the first link it sends me to a blank page, and for the second, I have the firewall off.

My students are having the same issue - it is only since the update v1.14.50. The computers with the older version are not having this problem. This is educational software and as such should be more stable. I have 25 students who have not been able to work on assignments for almost a week now because of this issue. What is happening regarding the fix?

Same issue here since version 1.14.50 was installed. The firewall is configured to allow MEE through. Any information as to when we should expect a fix? Thank you.

Can somebody help?

No updates on this? Still can't access from the district provided laptop. Do we have to contact the school? 1.14.50 does not allow me to connect.

On chromebooks, I've had students turn off their wifi, click the sign-in button a few times, turn their wifi back on, and then click the sign-in button, which works! I can't explain why, but it's been effective!

Hi there Liam Parcel, Fatima Al Najar, Elias Porta. Just to let you know, the first link is not meant to be followed, but added to your antivirus' allowed list so that Minecraft: Education Edition isn't being blocked.
You may also need to contact your school's IT administrator to make sure they've added the appropriate URLs to their allowed lists. These URLs can be found here:

I hope this helps!

Hi Team,
Liam Parcel Fatima Al Najar Elias Porta
this seems to be an issue with any iPad that is using a proxy server. If you try to connect a few times in a row, it should work - but then force you to login multiple times again anytime you close and reopen the app (not ideal, I know).
If you connect to a mobile hotspot as an alternative, that will work as normal, as MEE is no longer using a proxy server.
I have logged another job here with a lot more info, they are having a dev meeting on Monday about it.

Well, it magically just started working again for me for a few weeks, but now it is back to it's old tricks and I can't login.
My firewall is disabled so it has nothing to do with that.
Super frustrating user experience microsoft. Is it because I am using a mac?

So I have a similar problem, but instead of it not working on my Mac it doesn't work on my Windows at home but it works at school. It comes up that "something went wrong. please check your internet connection", there's also nothing wrong with my internet and its been doing this for a couple of months now and I've tried everything from restarting to deleting downloaded worlds and it still won't work.
Can someone help plz!

Hi there Ella Micallef. I'm sorry to hear about your difficulty connecting. I definitely recommend making sure you have port 19132 open on your router.
If you continue having issues here, I recommend opening up a support ticket with us.

Hey Benjamin,
Double check if there are multiple copies of the program installed on the device, if there are, make sure to backup your worlds, uninstall all of them, then reinstall the one from our website. Hope that helps!

How do I check that?
(I am also on Chromebook)

Hey Julie and Benjamin!
Actually for Chromebooks instead of checking for multiple programs installed, I would instead see if there are any proxies on your network that may be causing the issue.

Hey Christian!
Have you assigned your licenses in Admin Center yet after you purchased your commercial license?

I have no clue on what the issue is but I'm trying to sign into my school account on Minecraft Education edition from my phone and it says "Something Went Wrong. Try Checking your Internet Connection."
My internet is working fine and it is getting very frustrating.0 -
Hey there Calvin!
Sorry to hear you are running into some issues with this error, I have some steps to go through for troubleshooting:
1.)Have you allow listed all URLs from this page? : https://educommunity.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360047118992-FAQ-IT-Admin-Guide-
2.) Do you have a proxy or web filter that might be blocking the apps connection to our services? For Chromebooks, if you have a proxy, this is likely to happen since Chromebooks dont have full proxy support at this time.
3.)Back up any worlds, Uninstall and Reinstall App from this page: https://education.minecraft.net/en-us/get-started/download
4.)Are all OS's on the latest version? If not, I would recommend updating to latest OS version.

Hey there,
Sorry to hear you are running into some issues!
I have some steps to go through for troubleshooting:
1.)Have you noticed anything outrightly different between the devices that work and do not work? Wired/wireless? OS type/ OS versions?
2.) Do you have a proxy or web filter that might be blocking the apps connection to our services? For Chromebooks, if you have a proxy, this is likely to happen since Chromebooks don't have full proxy support at this time.
3.) Back up any worlds, Uninstall and Reinstall App from this page: https://education.minecraft.net/en-us/get-started/download
4.) Is it possible to upgrade to Windows 11 / test on a Windows 11 device?
5.) If the issue persists, we can make a ticket and give you some information to run a packet capture for more info on the error.

I've been having the same issue. Tried reinstalling steam multiple times, have only one minecraft version, and also my firewalls arent blocking anything. But I'm still having issues, and restarting the computer also doesnt work

Hey Chester,
I see you mentioned you were using Steam to download Minecraft, however, Minecraft Education is not available on Steam. Can you confirm what version of Minecraft you are using?
