Students Can't Make NPC Dialog
Hello! My students were supposed to make NPCs that said a digital citizenship message today. I tried it on my account and was able to spawn an NPC and click on it to bring up the settings for the NPC, where I typed in the message, customized the appearance, and changed its name. When my students tried it, they could not throw the spawn egg down on the ground and had to put down a monster spawner, then put the egg inside. They were able to spawn other mobs just fine. When they tried to click on the NPC to bring up the NPC settings, a box came up with a speech bubble but they could not type in it. My students were in creative mode and not survival mode. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

They probably don't have the permissions to use educational tools us the NPC. If you want to be able to use NPC you can use the following command: /ability @a worldbuilder true (copy the command in the game chat and press enter)
With this command the allow and deny blocks are not going to work for your students, so maybe when they finish placing the NPC you want everything back to normal. To do so you can use the following command: /ability @a worldbuilder false0 -
Minecraft Tech Support got back to me. Students needed to be in creative peaceful mode with cheats enabled and then type /wb in order to be able to spawn npc's.
