Cannot Join Multiplayer

I've tried multiple time to connect with my friend Multiplayer world but it always says its unable to connect, the ports are the same, and we both have good internet speed. Its only on rare occasions I can join but after that, I can no longer join. Please help?

  The fact that it does work sometimes leads me to believe there are inconsistencies in your process or in your internet connection.
