How were images imported into minecraft world by WWF for Extinction Crisis map

I was exploring the Extinction Crisis Map recently and noticed the beautiful pictures that had been imported into the map of the extinct animals. How was this accomplished? Is this a feature that any user has access too or was it only made possible due to the WWF resource pack modification that becomes active when you launch this map?

  Can you share the link to that pack? I teach ESL and could import posters with functionnal language for my students using the possibility to import pictures or even PDFs to my worlds.
