Currently Minecraft: Education Edition only supports a keyboard and mouse combination on the computer. This is due to the need for a keyboard to take advantage of the coding aspects of the game itself (among other features). The only other type of input we support is touch on the iPad. Really great question though!

Minecraft: Education Edition doesn't currently run on the PS4, so we don't support the scenario of connecting the PS4 controller to a device running Minecraft: Education Edition.

Can you use a generic controller? Is there one your team recommends?

No you can not I've tried just barley and It works on games like Just Build.lol. But minecraft education edition does not support any type of controllers. Even if you have a cord or just wireless.

    Great question though!

    Hey there!

I personally tested an Xbox controller with Minecraft: Education Edition and it worked just fine for everything besides code builder. This is the only controller I know to work with Minecraft: Education Edition.

Is there any way to use Nintendo switch controllers or a logitech controller.

    Hey there,

Minecraft Education does not officially test for controller support such as this, sorry for the inconvenience.
