Installing Minecraft Education Edition on Linux
I have a Dell Inspiron One computer running Linux Mint, 64 edition. I can't get the Windows version of Minecraft Education edition to install. It runs into errors having to do with "automatic updates", asking me to "abort, retry, or ignore". I tried retry and ignore, and in the end it ends up not installing. I have Wine and PlayonLinux installed. Can you help me out? Thanks, Scott

HI Scott Titensor,
Thanks for posting. We are not compatible with Linux at this time: https://minecrafteducation.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025605672-Supported-platforms-for-Minecraft-Education-Edition

Try running Minecraft Education on Browserstack's IOS machines. If you don't want to do that, try getting the Windows version (with WineHQ) or the Mac download. (with DarlingHQ)

This is the best I got:
https://educommunity.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360047556591-System-Requirements
My thought is that because Minecraft EDU is designed for schools, the priority is not to adjust the environment for a Linux operating system. I have no official voice on this. Just guessing. There is nothing wrong at all with asking. =D
Although I will mention that this is not a technical problem but a feature request.

I wouldn't expect the Minecraft people to develop a Linux version, but we might hope they could give some clues to the Linux people to help find a way to run it on Wine or whatever.

I'm not sure if this will work
try this article
https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/run-android-apps-games-linux/
then after reading this go to this website
https://education.minecraft.net/en-us/get-started/download
then click on "Windows users can also download from the Windows Store." then follow the article above
