Scoreboard - Programming
The /scoreboard command, along with /team and the inclusion of NBT data would be very valuable for the learning of students. /scoreboard allows students to create variables in-game that can be edited directly by the students, or by game conditions being met. This of course would teach students about variables as a programming concept. It would also make way for learning math and computer science concepts as it includes basic and complex operations. Really, the benefits of including just these commands are almost countless:
Scoreboard
Teams
NBT data
The possibilities really are endless, and students need to be able to see that programming gives them endless possibilities.
Scoreboard
- Advanced students declare, edit, and more to variables via the scoreboard
- Other students learn the malleability of variables by making changes to the world which, in turn, change variables
- Teachers are able to make advanced rules and environments for students to learn in
- Teachers can create their own rules of play within learning worlds
- Students and teachers are able to alter the core gameplay to their own learning
Teams
- The team command is a core addition to the scoreboard command
- Through the team command, students can view and edit variables (teams) directly
- Students and teachers can display variables and their values
- Teachers can make rules for specific students and groups, allowing them access to different areas and abilities
NBT data
- NBT data represents the core behavior and aspects of mobs, npcs, and blocks.
- With the ability to edit block and entity nbt data, students could see the real effects of their programming in-game
- Teachers can give entities custom behavior and aspects
The possibilities really are endless, and students need to be able to see that programming gives them endless possibilities.

Yes, I believe the scoreboard feature has just come to Bedrock, so I am anticipating it arriving in MCEE soon. 0 -
Joel is correct, as it is adopted in Bedrock it will make its way to Education. 0 -
@Kyle Great to hear that scoreboard is on the way to MCEE, is that also true for teams and NBT data? Just wanted to add my 100% support for Logan's request and awesome explanation of the applications. 0 -
