Cannot Connect After Update
I run the only server and admin account for our school. Since the 1.19.1 update, I've been getting the error that Minecraft Education Edition "cannot connect to the service you need right now. Check your network connection or try again later."
Nothing has changed about my network connection. I'm able to access everything else but Minecraft. What could be going on?

Hi Holly,
Thanks for posting. Do you see a login window pop up? Did you try our Beta build before release? If you don't mind go ahead and submit a request and we can troubleshoot this issue further. Please include server info and screenshots too if possible.
Thanks!

Nigel,
Late last night, we figured out what was going on with why I was getting that message. At first, we thought it was the firewall blocking connection. After eliminating that, tech decided to look deeper. There were Windows updates which had never been run on my laptop. No one knows why it wasn't auto-updating. However, once we got it all caught up with updates, Minecraft started running perfectly again. Hope this helps!

Hi Holly,
Thanks for replying, I believe my computer is updated so it must be something else for me.
Thanks again!

Hello,
I started a Minecraft EE class today and I encountered the same issue on two laptops. As this is a free class (we are a NGO), the kids bring their own devices and we provide the licenses. What I discovered is that the error apears when MEE is installed both from the Store and from the standalone installer. We couldn't make the store version log in, the windows the pops up to require student credentials remains blank. As I don't want to alter the laptop configuration, I created a separate Windows local account, on both laptops, and ran MEE and Code Connection from this account and everything worked that way.
HTH,
Cristian

Hi,
I installed all laptops via the file download from the minecraft website. They are all windows 10.
I found that even after updates some of the laptops were not able to connect.
I thought - uninstall minecraft and reinstall.
Then I found that there was a 16kb installation from the microsoft store. I uninstalled that and things were fine again!
Hope this helps,
Roger.

how do you get the 16kb one? i searched the Microsoft store, "16kb minecraft edition" and there were no results.

The Microsoft store app shows up on the installed application list as a mere 16kb...

Hi,
I found a way to repair that error. All you need to do is repair Minecraft from Add or Remove programs.
Hope this helps,
Tudor

Sadly, none of the previous tips helped me. Does the support-team have no solution?

Same issue here!

I found that removing all the student profiles, then checking of the app is installed (uninstalling if it is) and then recreating that student's profile by logging in got past the issue. It seems apps can be installed in other profiles and still interfere.
