Minecraft Multiplayer different networks
Hello,
I am trying to do a POC for a Home School group of 30 students. They would like to use Minecraft for education in a classroom setting over the internet. Basically all 30 students are not on the same network (LAN) since they are all on their home network.
I followed this guide https://minecrafteducation.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001429408-How-To-Set-Up-A-Multiplayer-Game-
1. I setup a Base Windows 10 Machine that has internet access. It has an external public IP address and an internal one 10.10 address. I will call this machine MineCraftServer
2. Installed Mine Craft for Education created a multiplayer world
3. Using a new Windows 10 machine I also installed Minecraft for education. Call this machine MineCraftStudent
4. On both machines I opened ports Port 19132 TCP AND UDP
5. On my Minecraftstudent machine I setup the servers tab pointing to the public IP address of MineCraftServer.
When I do this it will not connect.
If I look at the IP address listed on the Minecraftserver within the game screen it shows the IP address as the internal IP not the external.
How can I connect to the server on two different networks if it only configures to the local IP?

Hello,
Thanks for posting. A few notes:
- Port 19132 is opened on the network, not the machine (I think this is what you did)
- You can verify the IP address at whatsmyip.com
- Is Minecraftserver running with a player in the world when you try to connect?
We can create a request if we need to troubleshoot deeper on this.

Kyle thank you for your prompt reply it is appreciated!
Can we do a support request? I think it would be easier to take a look at if that is possible.
