Unable to play on same network if on LAN(Ethernet) AND WiFi
I have minecraft education for use in my classroom but I have an issue hosting worlds. If I host a world while I am on LAN (Ethernet cable) students cannot connect to my computer. However, when they punch in the secrete code or even directly using my computers IP address it does not allow them to connect. They are presented with the name of the world but are unable to connect despite the fact that their computers did see my computer (otherwise the name of the world would not have been displayed).
The only way for students to connect successfully is if I get on the WiFi that they are on then it does connect successfully. I have the port open on (19132) on my host computer and have no programs preventing connections.

Hello Jason,
Thanks for reaching out. There is something on one of the networks that is preventing the multiplayer connection, probably 19132. The recognize the game because you are on the same tenant.

so does the port need to be open on the router/modem or just directly on the computer?

Hi Jason, it needs to be opened via the router settings. portforward.com is a good resource
