Hello Damian Nell,
The port 19132 needs to be opened. Please contact your IT admin.

I also have this problem. I use the same school device with the same Edu version and the test licenses for the school. So far, neither a student nor I as a teacher have been able to host a world. Each time it says that the connection is not possible. Is it perhaps due to the test access or some firewall settings at the school?

Hey Karolin,
Since this post was made, there have been updates to what URLs need to be allowlisted for Minecraft Education to work.
We'd recommend making sure your network allows access to all of the URLs Used by Minecraft Education.
Additionally, make sure you (or your IT Administrator) are aware of the "What Ports do I need to allow" section. This has information about how peer-2-peer multiplayer works.
If you continue having issues, please let me know and I can help you out either here, or get a ticket open for you!0
