Please add a feature to save immersive reader settings.
The immersive reading mode is an excellent design that greatly helps children learn content, especially since many courses are preset in English. For children from non-English-speaking countries, the translation and part-of-speech color classification features in immersive reading provide significant assistance. While helping with content comprehension, it also aids users who want to learn English by supporting sentence understanding through part-of-speech classification. Once again, this is a fantastic design! However, there are two main issues with its current usage:
-
The loading speed is too slow. Every time it is opened, it needs to load, and it would be more convenient if it could switch more instantly.
-
Settings cannot be saved! For example, when I set the part-of-speech color classification and translation functions, I have to reconfigure them each time I open the immersive reading mode. This is quite inconvenient, especially considering that the conversation is segmented into small chunks. It is unrealistic to switch to immersive reading mode for every sentence and reset the settings each time. Combined with the slow opening speed mentioned in point 1, this essentially makes this wonderful feature unusable.
Based on the above points, I suggest:
- Adjust the operation of the immersive translation mode, changing it from being based on individual dialogues to being based on whole small paragraphs, reducing the number of switches.
- Add a feature to save the immersive translation settings, so that users don’t need to reconfigure them every time.
- Improving the speed of opening immersive reading mode would be ideal, though this issue would be less significant if the first two points are addressed.
Minecraft EE is a fantastic educational tool, and immersive reading is a feature that offers great assistance to children in non-English-speaking countries. Thank you for designing these features. I hope the suggestions above will help improve and expand this educational game, benefiting even more children.
