Suggestions for Improving MakeCode Program Saving Options
I teach Minecraft Education to students at school.
I would like to propose a suggestion regarding how to save programs of MakeCode.
So far, MakeCode programs can only be saved to the computer's drive when using Windows.
However, this is not possible for students using Macintosh or Chromebooks.
Students using Macintosh or Chromebooks have no choice but to save their MakeCode programs online using the "Share Project" menu within MakeCode.
This requires them to write down the URL of the saved project each time.
This process is extremely challenging for elementary school students and poses a significant obstacle to conducting lessons smoothly.
However, from a security perspective, I believe it will be difficult to implement a way to save MakeCode programs to local drives on Macintosh or Chromebooks in the near future.
To address this "extremely inconvenient situation for students," I have come up with a solution and would like to propose it.
I'd like to ask the developer of Minecraft Education to create a new type of block for saving MakeCode programs, allowing students to store their programs within this block.
Since programs can already be saved within command blocks, I believe this approach is feasible.
If implemented, students would be able to save MakeCode programs as blocks regardless of the type of computer they are using, making it much easier to manage their work.
This would also be a significant benefit for teachers.
I kindly ask for your consideration.
