    Hey there!
I'm Kaleb with the Minecraft Education Support Team, I'm happy to assist you today!

Couple of questions to help sort this out:
    1. Can you confirm the exact specs by either providing your systems Make/Model OR\ using your platforms settings to verify specs.

    • On windows this is under Windows Settings > System > About
    • On MacOS this is under About this mac in the apple menu
    • On ChromeOS this is in about in Settings

    2. Does the issue persist past uninstall and reinstall of the game? Note you'll want to backup your worlds! Location of World Files – Minecraft Education
    3. Ensure that all of your drivers are up to date. If this is an OEM system you can find your systems drivers on their website. If this is a custom built you'll want to namely look for your Chipset and GPU drivers on your motherboard and GPU manufacturers website. I can help you find these once you verify the exact specs.
    4. Lastly, confirmation of the issue occuring would help alot. Does the game launch at all? Is it crashing? Is it lagging? Is there any specific scenerio that's causing it (i.e. only in Multiplayer?). Are there any other programs running in the background?

    Thumpmallow ⠀,

MC: EE is always going to have lag, because its a different version of bedrock edition with less support, less bug tracking & fixing, less bug fix updates, and the small development team. Sorry, maybe it will get better soon!

If I can offer some advice. I am also running on a high end PC and have experienced this issue. I did, however find a temporary solution. The issue seems to be with Full Screen mode in the video settings. When in full screen, the game now uses a memory saving solution that is similar to Bedrock when clicking into another program while running the game. When going back, it seems that memory is never fully reallocated.

Switching OFF Full Screen in the Video settings and playing in Windowed view has resolved this issue for me entirely. It is not the perfect fix but it does seem to be working.

    Not at all Thumpmallow ⠀

It's good to see what kind of experiences people are having, so thank you for sharing.

Out of curiosity, what did you do to resolve the issue?

i just stopped playing for a while, and all of a sudden it worked! at the cost of needing 2 headphones, but still.

    A few other observations:

    • Those running the GeForce Experience software may notice that their video setting will change without warning on boot up. This is because the GeForce Experience software recognizes Minecraft Education as Minecraft for Windows 10 and so will crank up the render distance and try to force RTX on (which MCEdu can't do)
    • Opening task manager, going into Details, and setting Minecraft Education's priority level to High or Realtime also solves some of the issue but may not free up CPU usage for other programs.

The lag and crashing you're experiencing with Minecraft Education on your PC could be due to a combination of factors. Here are some potential solutions:

    1. Check for Updates:

    • Minecraft Education: Ensure you have the latest version of Minecraft Education installed. Outdated versions may have bugs or performance issues.
    • Operating System: Make sure your Windows is up-to-date with the latest patches.
    • Drivers: Download and install the latest drivers for your graphics card (GeForce RTX 4060) and other hardware components.

    2. Adjust Graphics Settings:

    • Minecraft Education: Open the game and go to the settings menu. Reduce the graphics settings, especially those related to rendering distance, shadows, and particles. This can significantly improve performance on older or less powerful systems.

    3. Allocate More RAM:

    • Windows Settings: Right-click on the "This PC" icon and select "Properties." Go to "Advanced system settings" and click on the "Performance" tab. Choose "Settings" under "Performance options" and go to the "Advanced" tab. Increase the memory allocated to your virtual memory.
    • Minecraft Education: If you're using a launcher like Minecraft Launcher, you might be able to allocate more RAM to the game directly. Check the launcher's settings for options related to memory allocation.

    4. Check for Conflicts:

    • Background Programs: Close any unnecessary background programs that might be competing for system resources.
    • Antivirus Software: Temporarily disable your antivirus software to see if it's interfering with the game.

    5. Verify Game Files:

    • Minecraft Launcher: If you're using the Minecraft Launcher, check for the option to verify game files. This can help identify and fix any corrupted or missing files.

    6. Update BIOS:

    • Manufacturer's Website: Check your motherboard manufacturer's website for the latest BIOS update. Updating the BIOS can sometimes resolve compatibility issues and improve performance.

I had a similar problem with an M:EE Library flat world, massive lag. The generic 'Helpdesk' solution will not fix the issue.

I'm running an older Nvidia Quadro 3000 (with updated drivers).

I found that with high GPU intense programs running in window 10/11. You need to force windows to run the app on the “High Performance card/GPU”.

In SYSTEM > DISPLAY > GRAPHICS. If not already listed in the 'Customised settings'. Select 'Add Microsoft store app', and add M:EE, then choose 'High Performance (<your video card>)' as your GPU preference option. Also, if not already on, select 'Optimisation for windowed games'. See screenshot below.

    This stopped my lag completely.
