Unable to join worlds after new update

After the recent update, I’ve been unable to join my friends’ worlds in the game. I use a Mac while my friends use Windows. Every time I attempt to join their worlds, I receive the error message “unable to join world.” I’ve noticed others experiencing the same issue and discovered that technical support suggests clicking “always allow” when launching the game. I’ve followed this advice, but the problem still persists. Please help!
