End Crystal nether portal bug

When I place obsidian and then end crystals next to a lit end portal, It goes on the other side. I think it is a op bug because you can stack end crysttals and set up a sculk sensor in the nether which triggers an arrow when someone goes through the portal. Can one-shot full prop 4 armor with totems
