Not able to install on Windows 7
Hi,
I ran into this error toward the end of installation process for Minecraft Education on my Windows 7 desktop.
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
I search online and follow all the suggestion like Full-Control permission for the folder, use administrator user, clean install of C++ 2017 Redistribution ... etc but none of them work
I notice that when the above error screen pops up, if I choose to ignore it and go ahead to launch the MinecraftEducation, the game does come up but always complain about the connection:
"We can't connect to the service you need right now. Please check your Internet connection and try again."
I wonder if the fail of installation is relate to the network setting? I google a bit myself and see that Minecraft is using WSS, TURN, STUN for network but those does not seem to be available with Windows 7?
By the way, if I choose "No I dont have an account, try demo" on the start screen. It brings me to a screen with this error: "We're unable to connect to the Library. This can happen if your computer is offline or if access to the Library catelog is blocked"

Hey Aiden,
Unfortunately, Minecraft Education does not support Windows 7. The minimum supported Windows operating system is currently Windows 10

Windows 7 support ended quite some time ago for the OS (January 2020), but computers with a Windows 7 license can still upgrade to Windows 10 for free, but you'll need to do a fresh install (so remember to backup all your files).
You'll be prompted during the install to enter the license key for Windows 7.
You can create Windows 10 installation media here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10
Once you've got Windows 10 on your system, you'll be able to install and run Minecraft Education... and that's just one benefit. With Windows 10, you'll be able to install Windows updates which is important for security!
