Hour of Code - Builder - Required Specs
Hello,
The children in my class use Microsoft Surface Go 3 devices. None of them could get the Code Builder to load. It was white and when our IT they identified that the CPU was maxed out. Therefore we abandoned the activity as they couldn't use the load builder. What are the required specs for running activities which require the use of the code builder? Thanks, Ronan

Hey there,
Sorry to hear you are running into some issues with Code Builder and Surface Go 3 devices .
I would recommend checking our Min Specs and pulling your school IT admin in to compare them -
https://educommunity.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360047556591-System-Requirements
Some other things you can try are -
- Close all other windows
- Restart the device
We have seen the white screen on devices with less than min specs in the past.
Let us know how things go!

Thank you Danny,
It might be useful to pass on to the education team that Minecraft Code Builder should work on Microsoft Go 3 devices as these are sold to a lot of schools. Great to have it confirmed.
Also, we have had some trouble with pupils collaborating in shared worlds. A lot of students get disconnected and it is very random in nature. We are trying to determine if it is a network/filtering issue or device related etc.
Is there a Min Specs for collaborating on worlds. Normal single player works perfectly.
Thanks again for your help.

Hey Ronan,
I am collecting data on this particular issue and I will make sure the team sees this.
In the meantime, could you try the steps in this article: https://educommunity.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/4404976874132-Troubleshoot-Code-Builder-Not-Launching
In regard to your multiplayer issue, are you able to replicate this issue with any other devices?
What is the error you are receiving when you are disconnected?
Does this occur with any other multiplayer games?
It may also be worth checking the network stability.0 -
Thanks Ernie, I will share this with our IT department as they are troubleshooting for me.
