account switch detected
When I attempted to log in, I received a message stating "Account switch detected," preventing successful login. Despite clearing my account in 'Settings > Accounts > Access work or school' and making another attempt, the issue persists. Interestingly, I can log in from a PC other than my own. I utilized Minecraft Education on my PC last term and subsequently uninstalled it. Could this be related to the current problem? How can I resolve this?

Good day, I am trying to play Minecraft Education on my students' iPad, and when entering a new user, I get the error Account Switch Detected referring to a previous user who used that device but is not in the domain. When I press the Try Again button, it goes into a loop, and I cannot access. How can I solve this?

Hey there,
I am not exactly sure what causes this issue, but you could give these steps a try:
If these steps do not work, you could have another user account created to use Minecraft Education with.0 -
Hey there!
Sorry to hear you are running into some issues with Account Switch Detected. The error you got look identical to what is above?
Are you able to try the steps Ernie posted above?
Also how often does your device get wiped? Are you able to back up any worlds and fresh install if the above steps Ernie shared do not work?
Let us know!

Yes, the error we're encountering is the same. The issue is that we cannot follow the steps from the previous response because we are using an iPad. Additionally, since the login is stuck in a loop, we cannot access the game.

Hey there,
Sorry to hear you are running into some issues with Minecraft Education's "Account Switch Detected" error.
Just had a few questions to help us support you further:
1.) What device make / model and OS version are you on when you got this error?
2.) Are you on the latest version of Minecraft Education?
3.) Is this a home network or school network?
4.) Is this a commercial account or school managed account?

Hi, Danny.
I will answer below.
1.) I am using Windows 11 (latest)
2.) Yes, I am using the latest version
3.) This question is difficult to answer, but... are you asking if you have administrative rights to the network? I have administrative rights. Additionally, there are no particular network access restrictions.
In that sense, it seems that you are using your home network.4.) I am using a commercial account

Hey there,
Could you try the following steps and let me know if they work for you:- Open MEE, close the sign in window that appears and go into demo
- From demo, click "unlock full game" to get a cleared AAD window
- Now sign in with the new account
Let us know if you have any additional questions, or concerns!
Thanks,0 -
Hi,
This problem did not resolve itself even after logging in from the demo, but I was able to log in by creating a new account and passing the subscription to it.
thank you very much.0
