Minecraft freezing on load screen on mac

I have Minecraft Education 1.20 downloaded on my computer but every time I try to open it, it tries to open my account from an older version, even when I deleted it from my computer. It keeps on freezing on the home screen and says global resources reset, resources failed to load properly. I've already tried to clear my cache and my data from past versions but nothing works.

  Hey Kevin,
  
  What version of MacOS are you using?
  Are you by chance using a proxy or VPN?
  If so, could you disable them temporarily and try to log in?
  If possible, could you try signing in on a separate network as well? A mobile hotspot is one of the more convenient options.
