Can we have full server support? (response needed)

I wish there could be some-kind of server support like java. a server thats always up and open, you can join or leave anytime and your progress can be saved. I also wish that you could keep a private server for you and your friends to play on, so that-way you dont have to worry about some random person joining the server and ruining everything. I hope that this can get read an have some reply from one of the dev's.
