says i have to restart my client

when i try to host or join a world it says to restart my client, i have signed out and back in, i have deleted minecraft ed and reinstalled it, i have shut down laptop and turned it back on, i have exited the app and re-entered it, i have turned off my wifi and even reset the wifi setting on my laptop. nothing has worked, please help
