    Hey there!

Sorry to hear you are running into some issues.

    How many devices affected?
    What make OS version? Make/Model?
    Has it worked prior?

I would also check to see if there are two versions installed. Multiple versions installed can also be a culprit for this error.

It is also worth checking all the URL's found here ( https://educommunity.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360047118992-FAQ-IT-Admin-Guide- ) are allowlisted on any proxies, and that Minecraft Education is allowlisted in any virus protection programs.

Finally, if the issue persists, backup your worlds, uninstall, and reinstall from the Windows Store version here if you are on a Windows device: https://aka.ms/downloadmee because less permissions are required to run it.

Let us know how things go!

    Hey Zoey!

    Same questions as above:

    How many devices affected?
    What make OS version? Make/Model?
    Has it worked prior?

If you are on a school network you need to have the host share their join code with you, and enter it in the Play menu, then Join World. Then the code will be something like "steve steve cookie cake"

Then you should be good to go!

    Same problem as OP.

How many devices affected? I'm only trying to get this up and running on my teacher computer.

What make OS version? Make/Model?  Windows 11, just a regular PC, a Dell desktop, (maybe Inspiron?) of some sort.

Has it worked prior?  I had a pretty vibrant Education Edition community going for about a year, a few years ago (different machine, just an older Dell). Then when the year long licenses expired, I couldn't renew those licenses no matter how I tried. Then I learned that now you had to have your institution verified, so I did that, got confirmation that my school is verified. To do that I had to make an onmicrosoft.com separate from my school account. So now I have two accounts, my old school account and now an onmicrosoft.com account that is associated with the official school microsoft account where we purchase licenses for other products like Office docs (and I have admin permissions on). I have no idea now which account I should use. Neither of them work anyway.

I've actually been trying to find a way to get this work ever since the original licenses expired a few years ago.

Here's the message I get when I try to login:

    Or I get this:

Nothing works. I try at the start of every school year and eventually give up.

    Hey Geoff,

    Thanks for the info!

Do you have any virus protection programs or proxies on the device?

Also, if you'd like, let us know and we can make a ticket to troubleshoot the licenses on the domains you have even further.
