MCEDU can't open

Upon opening the Minecraft Education icon in the start menu, the game shows the normal red MOJANG splash screen. But after just 10 seconds or so, the window title bar added the (Not Responding) text, the window whitens, and a new window shows up with the window title bar saying Minecraft Education: Minecraft.Windows.exe - Application Error. After I clicked OK, both windows disappeared. If I run it as administrator, the same thing happens but without the whitening and the new window.

What device make / model and OS version are you on when you got this error?

Are you on the latest version of Minecraft Education?

Is this a home network or school network?

Is this a commercial account or school managed account?

On a home wireless network

With a school managed student account, but my teachers haven't bought the game for their students so I only get a 10 logins free trial

We haven't got this on the school computers, since as I said before the teachers haven't bought the game for us

I don't know any others with this issue

Yes it did work for me and this happened since I also installed MCBE on my computer. That might be the reason, should I uninstall it?

Hey there,

Thanks for the info.

Right, I understand its on your personal device, I am more wondering if you are able to try that personal device while connected to the school wifi network to see if the issue is replicated there.

When and how long did it work for you and when did it stop working for you?

Bedrock edition shouldn't affect Minecraft Education as they are entirely different programs but if you noticed a correlation between you installing Bedrock, and Minecraft Education not working properly, absolutely back up your worlds and uninstall Bedrock to see if that changes the issue at all.

Also check if multiple versions of Minecraft Education are installed, that will also cause issues.

The issue is replicated when on a school wireless network
It worked as long as I don't have MCBE installed and it stopped working when I have MCBE installed and uninstalled (recently uninstalled it but with the launcher still installed)
There are no multiple versions of MCEDU installed as from what I searched on the Apps & Features list in Settings

Hey Jeremy,

Before we look into this, can you confirm 100% that installing bedrock edition affects your ability to open Minecraft Education by reinstalling bedrock edition again. This is not a usual occurrence.
