How can I write on a slate using an ipad?

I have been trying to write on a slate in a minecraft world using my ipad. I have downloaded the world in my computer and I can write perfectly.

This is the world I am using:

I want to host for my students so each one can use a plot. I want them to be able to write their names on the slate to claim their plot. As a teacher I can do it but I don't want to do it manually.

  Just so I understand, you want students to edit the slates and type their names onto them, but there is some problem with them editing the slate?
