Sharing Worlds in iPad

I would like to have my students do a project on their iPads where they collaborate in the same world. Is this possible? I seem to remember from the past that they could do it on laptops but I am in a new school now where students only use iPads. I want to make sure it is possible before we purchase licences. Thanks.

  It is indeed possible. The users must be part of the same school but can join each other's world on iPads. Make sure the networks used to connect do not block Minecraft Education traffic and that users are all on the same version.
