Getting Minecraft EDU for students: Why is the app called Minecraft Education faculty
Good Morning,
I am finally trying to switch over to Minecraft EDU as for the past few years we have been using the old Minecraft with a server. I ordered licenses through a microsoft vendor and when the licenses were assigned they all say Minecraft Education faculty. This is the only license the vendor says they have the option to give us. It doesn't seem right to me that these are student accounts. I don't want students to be able to host worlds.
I have emailed the vendor and our microsoft rep and gotten no response.
Thank you for any help,

There are 3 license types. Commercial users have a generic license that does not show facility and student licenses. EDU organizations can have access to student and faculty licenses. The licenses do not give students access to host worlds, all users can host their own worlds. If you want to limit students from hosting, you will need to contact your network team and see what tools they can use to implement something like this. Certain partners only have access to faculty licenses, and you can try another partner if the current one cannot help.
