Possible Fix for 1.19.52 woes!
I tried an idea and it is so far working!
Do NOT install 1.19.52. Do NOT run it from your applications folder. Download the disk image and then run Minecraft Education 1.19.52 from that disk image. So, do not delete the disk image. Keep it for now.
Be sure to BACK UP your worlds. On Mac -- navigate to Library/Application Support/minecraftpe -- duplicate the 'minecraftpe' folder.
This is working for me. I have inventory and chat working correctly. PHEW! And the worlds are correctly saving and exiting upon leaving.
Comment with any of your own findings. This will take a village.
:-)
Yours, Bryan

Bryan Sanders What do you mean by run it from the disk image? Are you on Mac?

Yes, I am on Mac. For PC, I am unaware of how the download works but can take a look.

Not sure, but I don't think there's a similar PC thing for that.
From a PC perspective, there's a couple of ways to install it (which from the backend are quite different).
If you download it from the store, it installs through the store as a .appx file and it goes into the Program Files folders.
If you download it from the website and install through the .exe, it installs in the older Program x86 folders.
Personally, I prefer the .exe method. Seems more stable, and user access is broader. In practice, I've often found if one install method isn't working, the other will.

Aha, so you can't get the executable from the download? You can only download an installer on PC?

I am also experiencing problems. I have been using a world for years now that was called Code Builder Tutorial. It was an awesome world that had 8 sections for students to complete and now the agent doesn't move at all in this world. If I create a brand new world, the agent will move just fine.
Just in this older world, it will not work. I can provide the world if someone else wants to try it, but I have tried both on a Macbook and a Chromebook with zero luck. This was the final project for our Minecraft EE unit and now I have several students that cannot turn in their assignments
UPDATE - it only seems to be affecting the MOVE FORWARD by 1 block. I have even tried to change the direction and use different programming languages (maybe it became case-sensitive during the update) but still no movement. I can get the agent to turn, destroy, till, anything else.... Just not move

Josh Kitzerow thanks for the update. I'm going to open a ticket so we can get a copy of the world from you.

Here is a copy of that world I mentioned. I also found out there was some "Deny" blocks under the world, so I am not sure if those are interfering with agent functionality.
I am also experiencing issues with the Python Islands (#2) when deny blocks are being used. I think this 1.19 update broke a lot of great worlds.

Thank you for sending this and letting us know about those deny blocks. Can you confirm that you have received a ticket for this issue?

Yes, I got an email about the request being created. Thanks
