Unable to sign in to MC EE on a Macbook

I'm working on a 2022 macbook running Ventura 13.2.1. I installed the latest version of MC EE, 1.19.25.0, from the website. When I launch the program it says "You must sign in with your school account in order to play MC EE". We wait and wait but no sign in window comes up, and no browser sign in window comes up. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
