cant sign into minecraft education with my school account in ios (student)

when I try to sign into minecraft education with my school account on ios or ipados, I can put in my username before going to the sign in page for nycdoe, but it then redirects me to a link to a file called nativeclient. any way I can fix this sign in issue, so I can sign into minecraft?
