The incompatibility between nativeclient and iOS is most likely the issue here. I am on 1.18 and everything works well. 1.19 on my other IOS device gets the error. … As Jose T. And others stated earlier, the incompatibility resulted in the file showing up as a 0kb unsupported file. In the 1.19 update log for edu, they claimed to add a feature where we can be “logged in and remembered by the system” instead of having to login every time. This new feature probably had something to do with the nativeclient files.
For now, I am guessing this is a minecraft log-in system issue…0 -

Hey there,
Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for the patience.
Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates as they come, there was a recent one as of 5/17:

I updated one of our iPads to the latest version. After the sign-in screen, I expected to see the place to enter username, but I got a blank white window with cancel in the corner. I came here to check for info, but the search for iPads in the community under technical problems was completely ineffective. Well, it found 316 results that weren't listed.

Guys it’s patience that’s needed. You never know when they can fix it. But still, I agree Ankur Paul but the issue is Minecraft Education community is still working on it. I’m still thinking about making Demo Lessons act like accounts so people can play without an account or you can just change the client or take Minecraft back one version.

R. L. You are correct. I did some more digging and I found an important piece from https://developer.chrome.com/docs/native-client/welcome-to-native-client/ (or Google). The page states “Native Client is a sandbox for “running compiled C and C++ code in the browser efficiently and securely” ”. the Native Client file could be running the C or C++ code in the browser in which this case is the NYCDOE’s landing page for logging in.

Please give us update when you fix it

It’s been two months and no progress has been made. Send out temporary logins for NYC students. The majority of students only have iPads. It’s really frustrating that you are unwilling to to put in the resources to fix this.

we’re you guys able to understand what’s the issue with the native client file issue? Would be the nycdoe organization that’s causing this error is it the Microsoft login page in general?

I didn't get the native client error, but I was unable to log on to the updated version on my iPad. The workaround that I found was:
- choose the demo lesson
- accept terms
- choose to play full version
- a log-in screen will appear for Microsoft login. Do that.
- you are redirected to the regular "play" screen logged in!
Dunno if this addresses the same issue, but it helped me. (This is my personal iPad. Our school iPads are in another environment entirely.)

Debbie Alexander, Is this the solution to the nativeclient issue, because I want to be able to play minecraftEDU on my ipad. If you didn´t get the nativeclient issue, what issue was it? Please let me know if this solution works for stopping the nativeclient errors when logging in.

No, sorry, I did not have the "native client" issue. There are iPad sign in issues that are not that issue, and it seemed best to post here about it. Hope it wasn't too confusing. I hope this all gets cleared up soon.

Debbie Alexander it didn’t work for me

I hope the native client file is fixed sooner or later, because still I´m unable to play with friends who use an iphone/ipad!

I realized it’s not a issue with the DOE iPads, it’s actually the domains
0 -
so the @nycstudents.net domain is the main issue?
oh, so a solution to the problem is to either implement support of nativeclient for ios, or to change the domains!
