1.19.52 Hosting World does not work
I host a classroom and no one can connect using join codes after updating to 1.19.52. We have a shared world we've been working on for months. I can load it myself, but no one can join. They timeout on joining. Also, as the host, once I close and click Save & Exit, the game sits on the screen that says do not close this while saving. It never finished. The computer has to be restarted each time EDU is run.

For users seeing this issue mainly on Chromebooks. I think this might be due to SSL decryption. You may need to contact your IT department for this. Google requires end point certification when using SSL decryption. You can find out more about this at the link below:

Hey all,
We are still investigating 1.19 multiplayer disconnects. At this point we need some logs from affected devices in schools. For IT Admins, Educators, and Tech Leaders who are able to reproduce the multiplayer issues and did not have issues on 1.18, please submit a ticket to https://aka.ms/MEE_New_Request and request me by name, explaining that you've been encountering multiplayer issues only on 1.19.
Getting logs will be a huge step in our ability to resolve this issue. Thank you.1 -
Quick question for you all to help us as we investigate. For users where multiplayer issues arose only after updating to 1.19, does the issue happen for you on wifi or ethernet?
If you've tried both, does it happen on one or the other more frequently? Let us know, thank you! Know we're still hard at work investigating this.

Justin when I had the issue, 20+ chromebooks were on wifi while the teacher's Windows laptop was hardwired to from a docking station. Even though school is out for us right now, when I last heard from the teacher earlier this month he said everything was working again.

Hey there Aaron,
Oh that's good to hear! Both the teacher and the student devices are working again?

Justin- The computers in my lab are hardwired. I run the multiplayer sessions from my laptop using wireless connectivity. My experience is both types of connections are even with the problems that occur when both hosting and playing. I had a two week run with no issues but last week we started experiencing issues again. I have noticed if one student has a problem connecting it creates a problem on two levels - those who attempt to join after the person with the issue will get a connection time-out message; those who were able to join prior to the person with the issue then cannot interact with NPCs, cannot build, cannot mine, cannot open chests or open inventory.

Hi there, me again!
After much begging from students I decided to try and get a Minecraft Education activity up and running after several months of giving up. Here's what I can report:
The game and hosting has never been so unstable. Sometimes it would work for an hour, sometimes 5 minutes. This is pretty tragic, but a useful case study for my game dev course.
I really hope the right person comes along and rights the ship.

Justin I am trying to host world currently and students still cannot connect. My IT dept has combed through the servers and ALL URLs are working just fine. I am getting a 403 Error on https://meeservices.azurewebsites.net/ that might be causing the issue? Please help.

Added this to the pinned comment, but adding it as a post to ping any who are following this channel:
We have released a hotfix (v1.19.53) to resolve the multiplayer issues mentioned here. Note that iOS does not yet have the hotfix. Our next update before back to school will have this and more multiplayer stability updates for all OS's. Note that v1.19.53 (hotfix) and v1.19.52 are cross compatible for multiplayer, in other words uses on either version can join each other.
If you continue to see any multiplayer issues, please report them to us at https://aka.ms/MEE_New_Request so we can investigate further! Thank you!

We have updated our iOS devices to 1.19.53 but our iOS devices still are having trouble connecting to the world.
Is this a known issue?0 -
We have released our new Trails & Tales (v1.20.12) update today. With this update, we made initial improvements to multiplayer stability. We have also determined that the majority of multiplayer disconnects (and intermittent join failures & inventory issues) occur after the host device can no longer process the number of players in the session (typically due to CPU, HDD, or RAM maxing out).
With that said, we're determined to improve the performance of multiplayer hosting so that devices can hold more users before experiencing issues. View our article here to learn more about this issue and possible workarounds: Known Issues in Multiplayer
If you still experience issues on higher spec devices, please submit a ticket to my team letting us know your device's specs (or make/model/OS) and the number of players you can host before encountering issues.

Hey there,
This likely means you have used your 10 free logins to Minecraft Education before you need to purchase Minecraft Education or have a license assigned to your account. If you feel you should have a license assigned to your account, please reach out to your school's IT admin to ensure it has been assigned correctly.
More info on free trials here:
