Hey, how do you put a name tag on your pet?

I get a name tag then try to put it on my wolf by right clicking the wolf and it just made him sit down. It is a tamed wolf if you need to know.

  Helena Shaw, try holding down the left shift button while clicking on the wolf with the tag.
