MCEDU won't launch on my mac

I can't find the files for it in app support either, my mac is compatible with mcedu and the installed minecraft app doesn't launch

  Hi, Eric. Sorry you are having troubles. So you downloaded Minecraft, and it just won't start at all? What do things look like? Do you see it in your Launchpad? Is it in applications? Any details you can give me?
