Can't run code builder commans
I have been teaching in Minecraft EDU for about 5 years and this is a sudden, weird error that has occurred after updating to Version 1.18.42 (1.18.42.0) on my MacBook Pro.
I code stuff in the code builder and then when I type the appropriate command in the chat (i.e. "run"), nothing happens at all. I am NOT putting a slash in front. Sometimes when I type run and hit enter, it doesn't even take me out of the chat window. Help!

Are you able to run the demo programs in Code Builder?

I am having the same issues where I run the code and then close the coding window. When I type the command nothing happens. When I go back to the coding window the run button is not still enabled so I think when you close the coding window it is not continuing to run the code.
Any help on this would be much appreciated!

No - I can't run "Chicken Rain" or any of the tutorials.

Is everyone having this issue on a MacBook?
I've been using Code Builder on many different devices successfully, but they've all been either ChromeBooks, or machines running Windows 10 or 11.

I have not seen this issues but will run some tests today.

I have a few students with Macbooks too and they are not having the same problem. I have tried reinstalling, tried resetting the code builder ... I'm totally stuck.

I am asking around trying to see if we have a workaround or ideas from the Devs. There are a lot of users reporting this issue. As soon as I or someone from the team comes up with something that might help, we will provide that.

Thanks for posting! I'm running into exactly the same issue on a Chromebook (IdeaPad Flex 5i). The game runs well, but the command "chicken" for the Chicken Rain tutorial does nothing.
Exactly the same commands work fine on my laptop (Windows 11).
Has there been a fix or workaround?

One other note that may or may not be relevant:
When I click the green arrow to "test" the code in my Windows machine (which works), the code window goes away and I'm back in the main Minecraft screen. Once this happens, I can open to console and type "chicken" and everything works fine.
When I click the green arrow to "test" the code on the chromebook, the code window does not go away. On the chromebook I have to exit the code window manually (by clicking the X or hitting ESC on the keyboard). Then when I open the console and type "chicken" , nothing happens. It occurs to me that when I exit the code window, it stops the test and the code is not set up to run.
Is there a workaround where I can "compile" (or some equivalent) the code on the chromebook?
Thank you for any advice!!
