Letter and numbers blocks
Would it be possible to consider adding a set of blocks with alphabet and numbers to use in game? This would really open up a whole range of phonics and numeracy activities for younger players. I understand these would be based on the language selection, but a start with English alphabet would be really helpful for all educators and avoid the need to hack the current blocks to achieve the same ends. Thank you!

This would be massively helpful - a set of small letters and a set of capitals would be amazing 🤩

I used these blocks so much when I was building in the previous Minecraft edu editor. It would be a great help to have them included in the current game.

This would be absolutely invaluable for both educators and learners.
I think it would also get far more staff engaged in MEE seeing the power and possibilities of using it.2 -
Thanks Tim, this is such an important point. It would be yet another powerful way of engaging other educators in the multi-facated education tool MEE is. 🙏👍

Here is an example of the kinds of activities that would be made much easier with these blocks. The focus is on letters here but the potential for numeracy is just as valid! I really hope the community get behind this and make a strong case for further updates. Phonics Island | Minecraft Education Edition

Fascinating discussion on the PlayMatters Discord channel where I recently learned that the original Minecraft: Education Edition actually had number blocks. It seems the original version was based on a Java version of the game and had them in the inventory. Just sharing this as I thought it was interesting.

Wow! Good idea. The kids can learn so much in lower grades. After all, this is education edition.
